LA Metro Chooses Parking Sense to Improve City’s Parking

Parking Sense is pleased to announce that Parking Sense USA has won a major contract with Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) for 21,000 parking spaces across the city. The award of contract follows a formal RFP process in which PS USA beat out strong competition to secure one of the largest contracts of its kind to be awarded in the US.

"This is a very important win for us," says Parking Sense Global Managing Director Paul Collins. "It's the result of all the ground work our US team has put in over the last 12 months, plus it confirms the strength of our product and overall offering.

Los Angeles is one of the most densely populated metropolitan areas in the world and since opening its first parking lot in 1917, Los Angeles County now dedicates roughly 14 percent of land exclusively to parking.

Parking Sense USA CEO, Jake Bezzant says the deal is likely to bring further opportunities for Parking Sense in partnership with LA Metro, but remains very focused on getting the next stage right. "The team's priority is to deliver on this contract, get the basics right and other opportunities should follow. As part of this contract we will also be releasing our new APP, ParkUp, which is set to revolutionise the way consumers choose and pay for their parking spaces. So watch this space!"
